From Access to Empowerment: Transforming Tourism through Digital Skilling and Community Engagement
The PATA Live Webinar hosted by Airbnb on July 17 brought together experts from SPARK Philippines, the Internet Society Foundation, and the Global Himalayan Expedition to highlight the importance of digital skilling and capacity-building efforts. They discussed strategies for unlocking economic opportunities through these methods in the Asia Pacific region.
Forging Future Paths: Strengthening China-Thailand Tourism
The China-Thailand Cultural Tourism Industry Summit on July 1 highlighted the importance of deepening collaboration to promote cultural tourism, with key insights from PATA Chair Peter Semone and CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid. Over 40 GTERC delegates visited PATA HQ to reinforce partnerships and discuss future collaborative efforts.
Pierre Doley Youth Scholarship Fund
Former PATA President Pierre J. Doley was a firm believer in the power of education and truly appreciated the PATA organisation. A memorial scholarship fund has been set up to help young individuals build their future. All donations are used exclusively for educational purposes and sponsorship activities for PATA Youth.

PATA's Tourlink Project Comes to an End after 4 years
Since 2020, PATA has been actively involved in the Tourlink project, aiming to move Thai tourism towards sustainability through a business-led supply chain approach. PATA's primary role in the project focused on a series of initiatives to reduce food and plastic waste in tourism businesses. Now that the TourLink project has concluded, it has achieved remarkable success in each initiative, thanks to the efforts of PATA and all project partners. Read more in the blog.
